Launched in August of 2020, Tuesday Casual Collaborations at 185 King Street has become a cornerstone of the vibrant Brevard music community. Every week Travis Book assembles a unique group of musicians for a one-time-only show, drawing on his vast network of friends and growing repertoire of musical styles. From Bluegrass to Blues, Songwriter to Americana, Country to Funk, Travis and his ever-evolving cast of local and national (even international) musicians consistently hit the sweet spot between preparation and spontaneity. “Eventually, I hope to play with everyone!” he occasionally boasts, and he’s well on his way. Travis has hosted a wide range of musicians, including: Anders Beck, Nicki Bluhm, Josh Daniel, Beppe Gambetta, Mike Guggino, Vince Herman, Sierra Hull, Cris Jacobs, Jim Lauderdale, Lindsay Lou, Steve McMurry, Mimi Naja, Tim O’Brien, Woody Platt, Jon Stickley, Kyle Tuttle, and Cristina Vane. He also regularly employs the skills of world-class local musicians like Jeff Sipe, Mike Ashworth, Tommy Maher, Bennett Sullivan, and Derick Gardner. Every week is unique, the musical styles wide-ranging, but the one thing that remains constant is the intention, positivity, and charisma that Travis brings to each and every show.

This week Travis is on tour so  Mark Schatz and Bryan McDowell will be hosting  Mark Schatz (Nickel Creek, Bela Fleck, Claire Lynch Band and more) and award winning instrumentalist Bryan McDowell bring two generations and backgrounds together in unparalleled synergy, humor, beauty, and ease, taking the listener on a delightful, toe tapping journey through a landscape of fiddle and banjo tunes, songs, lilting waltzes, and searing guitar solos. Schatz and McDowell offer stylistically diverse material, ranging from traditional fiddle tunes and ballads, a Bob Dylan song, and a Louis Jordan boogie-woogie number to an Eastern European folk song on bowed bass and bluesy renderings on fretless banjo. Stir in some clogging, hambone, and jaw harp, then sit back and enjoy an eclectic musical feast!  They will be joined by Bennett Sullivan.

Things to note:

- If billing includes “ft.” the guest will be the featured artist on the show.

- If billing includes “w/” those guests are supporting the featured artist.

- Shows billed as “The Travis Book Happy Hour” are recorded for his podcast of the same name and include an interview with the featured guest.

- Sometimes Travis is on tour (with his band, The Infamous Stringdusters) and is unable to host. These shows retain the spirit and ethos of Travis Book & Friends, but he enlists a TB&F regular to anchor hosting duties. These shows will be billed accordingly.
