Over the past 20 years, Eric Congdon has cemented his reputation as one of the regions best and innovative guitarists, as well as being a performer of incredible energy and creativity. He’s been featured in Bold Life magazine, Mountain Express, and the Times News, in addition to several TV and radio appearances across the region including WLOS and WDVX Knoxville. 2022 sees the release of his 7th studio album, Roadside Attraction, adding to his deep and rich catalog of original music. Eric’s music has spanned the globe with fans in Europe, South America and Asia. His music has been used for several TV programs around the world. Eric has also used his musical talents to help raise money and awareness for Autism. Over the past 10 years, Eric has helped raise more than $150,000 for Autism related organizations in WNC. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the St Gerard House, the regions premier Autism Resource Center.
This week Eric Congdon will be joined by Jonathan Pearlmen. Jonathan Pearlman is a veteran of the Asheville, NC Music Scene, having performed hundreds of shows in and around the area over a period of decades. Currently, Pearlman is Musical Director for The Asheville Sessions at Isis Music Hall and sponsors various shows under his band name Jonathan Pearlman’s Alien Music Club. Pearlman has a formidable backlog of original material on various CD’s under this band name, covering a wide and diverse landscape of musical genres, including jazz, blues, rock and more. Pearlman is currently showcasing a critically acclaimed tribute show entitled “Leonard Cohen: The Deep Cuts”. Past tribute shows include “Paul Simon Meets The Beatles” and “The British Are Coming”. Pearlman is also known as host of the time-honored and venerated AMC Jazz Jam at Barley’s Taproom in Asheville. This staple of the Asheville Music Scene was very popular for nearly a decade. The list of Pearlman’s musical collaborators is extensive. He is a charter member of Blues Chanteuse Peggy Ratusz’s Daddy Longlegs band. He performs with Zack Page, Connor Law, Ryan Kijanka, Chuck Lichtenberger (formerly of Stephanie’s ID/The Archrivals), Taylor Pierson, Micah Thomas, Jason DeCristofaro, Ben Bjorlie, Jacob Rodriguez, Justin Ray, Justin Watt, Russ Wilson, Reggie Headen, Jay Hoots, Eric Congdon; the list goes continues to grow. Pearlman prides himself on being a professional Musician, Musical Director, Band Leader, Composer/Arranger, and performer in an area so rich and diverse in musical talent. He also cares and gives back to the community, raising funds for non-profits such as BeLoved Asheville, and generously supporting musicians and venues in the area.
